A fishing boat came down the narrow channel between Dursey Island and Beara Peninsula while we were there. It had a large flock of seagulls trailing after it hoping for any scraps the fishermen would like to share. Over winter the fishermen from Dursey Island catch mackeral and herring, over summer it is time for lobsters and crabs.
